The Society of Onco Physiotherapists (SOP) was registered in May 2019 with the broad vision of creating a network of Onco Physiotherapists across India to deliver and implement uniform Physiotherapy services to cancer patients from all over the country by adapting evidence based guidelines for treatment.

SOP will serve as a platform for exchange of specific expertise and skills amongst Onco-physiotherapy professionals. SOP plans to facilitate and encourage collaborative multi-centric research in cancer, the focus being on finding cost effective, readily implementable physiotherapy interventions in all levels of cancer care in the country. 

The Society and its members will always be readily available for all the practitioners to lend a helping hand and guidance in regards to Onco rehabilitation. We also encourage the educational institutes to have collaborative programs and workshops to develop responsible professionals in this emerging field of onco-rehabilitation.

To conclude my message, I express my deep and sincere appreciation to all the founder members of SOP, whose enthusiasm and collective efforts focus on the long term vision of our society that cares for cancer patients, promotes cancer awareness and creates specialized human resource capacity for the country. Hopefully our individual professional aspirations will meld into a harmonious amalgam which is in sync with SOP vision and mission.
